Also known as "Asian Mahogany", Keruing wood is actually not a member of the Mahogany family, but is often confused for mahogany because of its red coloring and tight grains. Commonly used for marine vessels, piers and as a specialty hardwood, Eden Outdoor Living has discovered a way to remove the pitch (or tar) from inside the wood, thereby making it usable for outdoor furniture construction.
